Turkish Classical Music Night: Kanun, Oud & Ney

Experience the most refined form of Turkish music in the most beautiful venues of Istanbul. Enjoy an unforgettable music night with live performances featuring the qanun, oud, and ney. This concert, held in a historic madrasa overlooking the courtyard of the Suleymaniye Mosque, offers a wide repertoire ranging from Ottoman palace music to modern interpretations of Turkish art music. Tunç Bey will share the stories behind each piece, the composers, and the structure of the makam. You will personally understand how the makam system differs from the tonal structure in Western music. Before the concert, a light mezze platter and sherbet will be served. After the concert, there will be an opportunity to meet the musicians and engage in a Q&A session.
